After having my second child I was 24kgs over weight and not very fit, so I decided it was time to do something about my weight as I was not going to wake up one day, look in the mirror and find that it had all magically disappeared!

I made an appointment to see Janine at Full Balance Fitness hoping to structure an exercise programme that would help me lose some weight, improve my fitness and general health. I sat down with Janine and we talked about my goals and what I wanted to achieve. She asked how much weight I wanted to lose and then asked how much my youngest daughter weighed. When I said 5kgs she told me that I was currently carrying around 5 of my daughter and that is how much weight I was wanting to lose. Well the visualisation of that suddenly sank in and I thought no wonder I am always tired!!! Janine structured both an exercise program as well as an eating plan for me. The exercise programme started at a level that was achievable and gradually we increased the intensity as my fitness and strength improved.

Having only very limited experiences with gyms before becoming a regular at Full Balance Fitness , I was a little concerned that it would be full of seriously fit, chiselled patrons that would have a good laugh at my efforts. Well nothing could have been further from the truth. I have found everyone at Full Balance Fitness to be great people to be around and able to find the balance between providing motivation, discipline and support. Janine has been instrumental in helping me achieve my goals. The training becomes a journey where you build a relationship with your trainer that makes going to the gym very enjoyable and a seriously needed break from the daily routine.

I have now been going to Full Balance Fitness for 4 years, and have lost the 24kgs of blubber, improved my strength and fitness and have noticed a vast improvement in my overall health. I have also had another child and am now training to get back into my pre-baby shape. I have also introduced family members who are now also enjoying the benefits of improved health and fitness. I just want to say a big thank you. I have lost 21.2kg so far since starting working out with Janine at Full Balance Fitness. Her broad knowledge and encouragement have guided me to amazing achievements.

I first came to see Janine back in March 2009, and my main goal was to lose weight so that I could achieve a long held dream of sky diving on my 40th birthday. I had already lost a number of kilos before coming to see her and we sat down and talked through the realities of losing a large amount of weight and the timeframe that it would take. We set small achievable goals at first, and I achieved the first one in August 2009, 5 months after starting training, however the skydiving goal was never far from my thoughts.

Well I am so proud and pleased to say that after 12 months of blood, sweat and tears, and losing 20kg, I did just that and on 12th March 2010 I finally realized my dream of jumping out of a plane and sky diving!! What a buzz that was.

I am still going strong in my weight loss journey as I would like to lose another 20kg. I have also started the Group Exercise Classes twice a week and I have planned a number of other activities that I would like to achieve. Next up is 8 laps around Calder Park in a Touring Car.
